Activists of Navoi region held meeting dedicated to the results of socioeconomic development of the region in 2010 and implementation of foreground priorities set in the speech of the President Islam Karimov at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers held on 21 January 2011.

As a result of gradual implementation of Anticrisis program, the growth of gross regional product in Navoi region made up 2.5% in 2010. The growth in agriculture made up 6.8%, in construction and contractual works – 21.8%, in retail trade turnover – 24.1%, in paid services – 20.2%, in exports – 11.1%.

Over 200 projects were implemented within the framework of industrial development program, 2,000 new workplaces were created, investments worth 23.8 billion soums or .2 million were attracted.

The region is working on the development of small business and private entrepreneurship, the volume of credits extended to subjects of this segment grew 1.5 times.

Moreover, 3.3 billion soums were extended to improve meliorative condition of lands. It helped to construct and reconstruct 64.5 kilometers of drainage systems, two pump stations, four reclamation shafts, repair drainage system of 495 kilometers long.
