Uzbektourism national company is participating in the international tourism fair ITB Berlin 2011, which opened on 9 March.

Representatives of more than 11,000 tourist companies and specialists from 187 countries are taking part in the forum.

Uzbekistan, located in the heart of the Great Silk Road, attracts tourists from all over the world with its historic architectural monuments, picturesque nature and unique culture.

The reforms in the tourism sector have led to the improvement of the tourism infrastructure and service quality.

The country has been developing its ties with the World Tourism Organization. Uzbekistan joined the structure in 1993. Jointly with the WTO, international tourism fairs, conferences and seminars are regularly held in Uzbekistan.

According to Uzbektourism, the country can annually accept about 2 million tourists.
