President of Uzbekistan signed on 29 December 2008 a resolution "On forecast of main macroeconomic figures and parameters of the State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2009", which said the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan will grow by 8% in 2009.

The resolution said the industrial output will rose by 9.3% year-on-year in 2009 and agriculture production will increase 5% year-on-year. The retail trade turnover will rose 14.8% year-on-year in 2009.

It is expected that the consumer prices index comprises 7-9% in 2009. The capital investments will rose by 18% year-on-year in 2009.

The document said the deficit of the state budget will make up 1% to GDP.
