Uzbek Tourism Potential Unveiled In Berlin - ReportThe international tourist fair “ITB-2007” has concluded in Berlin. More than 11,000 firms and companies from 184 countries around the world participated at the event, Makhmud Bobonazarov reported from Berlin. The 41st fair was held at the one of the largest exhibition complexes in the world - “Messe Berlin”. All spectral services of the tourism industry and global tendencies of the tourist market development ranging from the... ...air company services and hotel complexes to the addressing of the transport renting were presented at the 26 pavilions of the fair subdivided into geographical and thematic features. The “Uzbektourism” National Company, “Uzbekiston Havo Yullari” National Air Company and a number of the tourist agencies presented Uzbekistan at this prestigious forum. Vast information on tourist route of the country, cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of the Uzbek people and historical monuments were displayed at the nationally styled Uzbek exposition. Director General of the German company “Ventus Raisen Gmbx” Regina Herbertz while speaking to the Information Agency “Jahon” said that the participation of Uzbekistan at the large world tourist fair is an evidence of enormous opportunities of the tourist industry of the country. “It has encouraged us to establish the advertising and information office of “Uzbekturism” National Company in Germany about which we have agreed at this fair”, - she said. “We are going to actively promote the tourist products of your country among the German and European travel amateurs”. According to the editor-in-chief of the “V.I.P Reisse Magazine” tourist magazine Dirk Jacobs, the “ITB-2007” will open up the new opportunities to the German tour agencies to take part in the development of the tourist infrastructure of Uzbekistan. “The historical monuments of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz and Tashkent, the century-old heritage of the Uzbek people, their hospitality are not only the business card of the country, but also an important factor of an increasing interest of German people to the current Uzbekistan”, - the German journalist has said. Within the framework of the fair the documentary on Uzbekistan, which told about the modern life of the country, its economic development, rebirth of spiritual and historical traditions of the Uzbek people, has been demonstrated to the participants of the exhibition.
