US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Marc Grossman will pay a visit to Uzbekistan in October 2011, the US State Department said in a statement.

The State Department said that Marc Grossman will visit Uzbekistan within his two-week tour to the region, which kicked off on 30 September.

US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Marc Grossman will travel to the UAE, Turkey, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Inda, Pakistan, and Qatar from 30 September to 14 October 2011.

Ambassador Grossman is traveling to South and Central Asia and neighboring regions ahead of the 2 November 2011 Istanbul conference for Afghanistan and in the lead-up to the 5 December 2011 Bonn conference to build support for the vision of a stable, secure, and prosperous Afghanistan in a stable, secure, and prosperous region.
