The visiting delegation led by the Minister of Sports, president of the National Olympics Committee of the People's Republic of China, Executive president of the 29th Beijing Summer Olympics organizational committee Lyu Pen met with the Uzbek Minister of Culture and Sports, the Chairman of the National Olympics Committee Rustam Kurbanov, Jahon reports.

The cooperation between Uzbekistan and China as much as in all spheres now extends and strengthens in the area of sports, as well. In this, the agreements concluded between the heads of the two states serve as an important legal basis, according to the reports by national newspapers.

While in talks in Tashkent the two sides are reported to have dwelled upon the prospects of further expansion of cooperation in sports, implementation of the joint projects, exchange of experience between the sports people and experts of both countries in this area.

Though, the parties have accorded a special attention to the training of sportsmen due to participate at the 29th Summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

The Chinese delegation has highly assessed the massive work carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to attract people to physical culture and sports, propagate the healthy way of life, develop the children's sports, popularize the Olympic movement, and other.

In Tashkent the Chinese delegation visited the Sporting Complex "Uzbekistan", the Museum of Olympic Glory, the State Museum of History of Temur and His Dynasty, the Fine Arts Gallery, and observed other places of sightseeing in the town.

Also, as a part of their in Uzbekistan the delegation members traveled to Samarkand, according to the reports.
