The session of the Council of heads of governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Tashkent on 2 November.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov, Premier of the State Council of China Wen Jiabao, Acting Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, Head of Russian Government Victor Zubkov, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Akil Akilov, SCO General Secretary Bolat Nurgaliyev and Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Antiterrorist Structure Myrzakan Subanov participated in the session.

Representatives of the SCO observer countries (India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan), as well as the First Vice President of Afghanistan A.Masud also participated.

They discussed issues of cooperation in strengthening security and stability in the region, as well as development of economic and humanitarian ties among the SCO member and observer states.

The talks focused on the fields like transport, fuel and energy, industry, agriculture, high technologies and the humanitarian sphere.

The session ended with signing of a Joint communiqué, the Agreement on cooperation and mutual help in customs field among the SCO governments and other documents.
