Samarkand regions’ GRP increases by 10.9% in 2011

 
The gross regional product (GRP) of Samarkand region (central Uzbekistan) grew by 10.9% in 2011, the session of the MPs of Samarkand regional council said.

UzA reported that industrial output of the region increased by 11.4%. Agriculture output increased by 7.7%, construction works – 30.6%, retail trade turnover – 16.9%. The service volume rose by 17.3%.

Investments for 576 billion soums were directed to modernization and technologic re-equipment of enterprises.

The region implemented 255 projects with the cost of US million directed at development of industry. This helped to create 1,197 new jobs.

In line with the programme of financial rehabilitation of insolvent enterprises, some 69.5 billion soums were attracted to 42 enterprises.

The enterprises of Samarkand region exported goods and services for US.3 million.
