Prime minister of Russia Vladimir Putin arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit on 1 September.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomed the head of the Russian government at the Tashkent airport.

During the visit, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with President Islam Karimov, as well as Prime minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The negotiations are expected to focus on issues of expansion of cooperation between the two states, as well as important problems on regional and international character.

Signing of bilateral documents aimed at deepening relations in various spheres is planned.
