Rural residents to receive modern houses660 new rural houses built according to type projects are about to be commissioned in Surkhandarya region in southern Uzbekistan. The residential areas are being created in accordance with the President’s resolution of 3 August 2009 on expansion of construction in rural areas. The aim of the scheme is to provide rural people with modern housing and decrease the gap in living conditions between the cities and villages. “660 modern houses will soon be commissioned in 14 districts of the region,” Qudrat Qurbonniyozov, director of Qishloq Qurilish Invest engineering company said. “90 houses in Kuchakli village of Denau district and 50 houses in Angor district are ready for settlement,” he added. A total of over UZS 39.6 billion soums have been allocated for construction of new houses in the region, including UZS 24.9 billion worth of long-term preferential credits of Qishloq Qurilish Bank and UZS 9.9 billion of initial deposits of the population.
