The gross regional product (GRP) of Navoi region grew by 6.1% in 2011, the session of the local council said.

The agriculture output of Navoi region in 2011 increased by 8.2%, retail trade turnover – 18.6%, paid services – 12.6%, construction works – 23.4% and production of consumer goods – 19.3%.

In 2011, the region started to export 32 types of ready products and the volume of their exports increased by 15.5% in 2011 compared to 2010, UzA reported.

The construction and assembly works were completed within 12 projects out of 17, which were launched at Navoi free industrial and economic zone. In 2011, they produced goods for 35.9 billion soums and exported products for US5,200.

Within the employment programme, the region created 41,800 new jobs, of which 76.8% were founded by small and private businesses.
