A delegation of Kajaria Ceramics Ltd, largest producer of ceramic tiles in India, held negotiations at the State Property Committee of Uzbekistan on 6 October 2011.

The press service of the State Property Committee said that Kajaria Ceramics Ltd produced 30.6 million square meters of ceramic tiles in 2010. In 2010-2011 financial year, its turnover made up US3 million.

During the meeting, the Uzbek officials briefed the Indian side on main directions of economic development in Uzbekistan, increasing role of private sector in economy of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek side briefed the Indian company on measures of the Government of Uzbekistan on stimulating investments to innovative project and creating enterprises with use of modern equipment, producing import-replacing and export-oriented products.

In their turn, representative of Kajaria Ceramics Ltd expressed interest in purchasing of object in Uzbekistan to create capacities on production of ceramic tiles of high quality.

The Uzbek side presented to Kajaria Ceramics Ltd information on existing objects and expressed readiness to organize the visit of the delegation to these objects.

In the result of the meeting, the sides agreed about further interaction on solving issues, related to implementation of the project of Kajaria Ceramics Ltd.
