Individuals will be exempted from income tax on their deposits at commercial banks and credit unions in Uzbekistan, in line with amendments and changes to the Tax Code of Uzbekistan.

As earlier reported, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law on 29 December 2008 to introduce Amendments and changes to Tax Code of Uzbekistan, which came into force on 1 January 2009.

The law introduced changes and amendments to 79 articles of the Tax Code, which came into force on 1 January 2009.
