India keen to boost investments in Uzbek

Buoyed by the warming of Indo-Uzbek ties, New Delhi is seeking to boost investments in the Central Asian country in energy, agriculture and mining sectors, India’s PTI reported.

Mutual relations are rapidly developing in different spheres like high technology, economy, trade, education, oil and gas and agriculture cooperation, after the official visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2006, Indian Ambassador Skand Ranjan Tayal said on the eve of the 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

”Uzbekistan and India have similar views on ensuring peace in our region and the well-being of our nations,” Tayal said, adding that the two countries have been ecognized as states which play a key role in fighting terrorism.
