The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved the Program of creation of workplaces and employment of the population for 2011 at its session on 18 November.

According to the press service of the parliament’s lower house, the purpose of the program, developed by the Cabinet, is to increase the people’s incomes and living level, and to ensure efficient use of available potential of the country’s regions and economic sectors in labor force.

The program is based on the results of the analysis of the state of labor market in 2010 and the measures planned for 2011 to develop the economy and the region in accordance with the 2009-2012 anti-crisis program, the investment program, localization and modernization program.

A total of 956,200 new workplaces are expected to be created in the coming year according to the program.
