A delegation of Asian Department of Agence Française de Développement (AFD, or French Development Agency) paid a visit to Uzbekistan on 12-14 October 2011 after the Strategic Orientation Committee of the Agency adopted decision to start operations in Uzbekistan on 23 June 2011.

The AFD delegation held meetings with the representatives of the interested ministries of Uzbekistan, including the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan, as well as Tashkent city administration.

French Embassy in Uzbekistan said that the AFD experts also held negotiations with representatives of international financial organizations.

The Embassy said that the positive results of the mission on renewal contacts and determining future projects says that the AFD will soon launch to concrete actions.

The French experts are planning to visit Tashkent in the end of 2011 for finalizing the first project, the embassy said.

Agence Française de Développement is financial organization, which is in center of French mechanism on rendering development aid. The agency will soon mobilize its experience and resources to help to modernization of economy of Uzbekistan.
