South Korean Daewoo International launched Daewoo Textile Bukhara company on the basis of former Bukharatex enterprise.

The foreign corporation reconstructed the buildings and installed the most modern production lines and equipment. The volume of investments made up USD 52.5 million.

Daewoo Textile Bukhara is capable of processing 19,500 tons of cotton fiber and producing 16,000 tons of yarn per year. More than 80% of the production will be exported.

Vice prime minister of Uzbekistan E.Ganiyev and head of administration of Bukhara region S.Khuseynov participated in the opening of the new enterprise.
