Czech delegation holds talks in Uzbek Foreign Affairs MinistryOn May 4 the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Bashta held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jahon reported. During the meeting the sides noted that the ties of the two countries in political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres are consistently developing based on the mutual interests. The agreements achieved during the high-level meetings of the Uzbek and Czech leaders serves in this as an important legal basis. In 1997 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov visited the Czech Republic with an official visit and in 2004 the President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus paid visit to Uzbekistan. Documents on expanding the mutual cooperation in number of spheres have been signed. In particular the sides agreed about establishing regular foreign ministerial consultations. During the talks held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the participants exchanged views on the state and prospects of the Uzbek-Czech relations, as well as other issues on regional and international significance of mutual interest. The Czech delegation also held talks at the Senate of Oliy Majlis, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, as well as Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. 10.05.2007 10:00
