Chinese Delegation Visits Uzbekistan, Holds Talks With Prez, Gov. Officials

 

On April 30 the delegation led by the chairman of the State committee on development and reforms of the People’s Republic of China Ma Kai has met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov in Tashkent, the local newspapers reported.

The parties have underscored that development of the trade and economic ties between the two countries, in particular, in the oil, gas and energy fields, in the sphere of communications and information technologies, as well as the agreements achieved at the meetings of the heads of two states serves as an important legal basis in this.

The Chinese delegation has been informed in detail about the priority directions of attracting foreign investments to economy of Uzbekistan, processes of privatization now being implemented in economic reforms and developing the small and private businesses in Uzbekistan, according to reports.

Also, the sides exchanged views on learning and utilizing the untapped opportunities and ways of fully implementing the potential of cooperation.

On the outcomes of negotiations a number of documents of mutual interest have been signed, the reports also have said.

The Chinese guests acquainted with the profound creative and betterment works carried out in the Mustakillik Square, observed the Monument of the independence and humanism, and visited the State Museum of the History of Temur and His Dynasty.

The same day the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Oksaroy Residence in Tashkent received Mr. Kai, in line with the reports.

During the talks, the sides have reiterated their constant stance on furthering the relations between the two countries in various spheres.

“We consider your visit as an important event in economic, political, and humanitarian areas,” – the Uzbek leader is reported to have said while welcoming the Chinese delegation.

The visiting delegation has sincerely thanked the Uzbek side for the warm welcome and entertained the much hope that such visits and exchanges of views would certainly contribute to the consolidation and strengthening of relations in all areas of mutual interest.
