Bulgarian President to pay visit to Uzbekistan in November – diplomat

  

Upcoming visit of Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov to Uzbekistan, scheduled to 6-7 November 2008, is good evidence for expanding and deepening of the Bulgarian-Uzbek relations in high level, Ilko Dimitrov Slavchev, charge d'affaires of Bulgaria in Uzbekistan, said in interview with UzReport.com.

Ilko Dimitrov Slavchev noted that Georgi Purvanov will pay visit to Tashkent and probably to Samarqand.

He said that the visit of Bulgarian president to Uzbekistan will serve for stimulation of bilateral cooperation and lift it to new quality level. He added that it is planned to hold meetings of two presidents and delegations.

Bulgarian envoy also underlined that the joint business forum could be held within the visit of the Bulgarian leader and added that the sides expect much from the event. He said that he would like to hear about constructive proposals on implementation of joint projects in various spheres of cooperation.

Ilko Dimitrov Slavchev said that the sides are preparing several documents, which will be signed during the visit. He said among these documents are cooperation in information technologies, standardization, protection of intellectual property, education and science, consular and visa relations (in particular to lift visa regime for people with diplomatic passports), agreement on cooperation of ombudsmen, agreement on twin cities between Plovdiv and Samarkand and others.

Bulgarian diplomat said that issues of collaboration between chamber of commerce and industry of two states are also studies, as well as content of joint declaration, which will be signed on the results of the visit of Bulgarian leader to Uzbekistan.
