Ukraine, Uzbekistan to boost trade turnover up to USnewscat="%" number="50"bn in 2007

  

Ukraine and Uzbekistan negotiated on boosting up a trade turnover in 2007 up to USnewscat="%" number="50" billion from US0 million. This was disclosed at a press conference to sum up the Ukrainian-Uzbek intergovernmental commission's sitting by the PM's councilor Andriy Honcharuk.

 

Honcharuk said this is likely to be achieved in view of a ratified agreement by parliaments of Ukraine and Uzbekistan on requisitioning of the free trade regime between the countries.

 

Andriy Honcharuk also noted, that a duty has been laid on tobacco, sugar, alcohol and pharmacy export, Ukrinform reported.

 

The countries will also boost trade turnover through granting Uzbekistan a right to use Ukrainian port warehouses for transit of copper and wool, Andriy Honcharuk said.

 

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Ukraine rose by 86% year-on-year to US5.3 million in 2006. Uzbek-Ukrainian trade turnover in January-February 2007 made up US million.
