President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Bahrain Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa on June 7 in Oqsaroy residence.

“Your visit is important, because it is the first visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Bahrain to Uzbekistan” - said Islam Karimov.

“Relations with the Arab states have high for priority for Uzbekistan. In this sense, cooperation with Bahrain has great importance for us.”

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Bahrain have been established in 1992. Our countries carry out political cooperation within the limits of the international organizations.

According to experts, attraction of investments of Bahrain to Uzbekistan, export of our fruit-and-vegetable products to Bahrain, foundation of joint ventures on manufacturing of consumer goods and development of tourism are perspective spheres of cooperation. Uzbekistan and Bahrain have more potential in the development of relations and in humanitarian sphere. Cooperation between scientists, art workers, and athletes of both countries will serve the further strengthening of relations between two countries.

The meeting covered bilateral relations and means of strengthening them in addition to issues of common concern.
